The characteristics of mobile video cards NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, RTX 2070, RTX 2060 MXM are disclosed.

NVIDIA is close to launching a new line of mobile discrete video cards GeForce RTX 20 series. Even before the official announcement, the Chinese laptop manufacturer CJSCOPE indicated in its product specifications Xijie Lion features upcoming graphics solutions.

What's interesting, this Chinese manufacturer's laptops are based on desktop components. They use motherboards based on the Intel Z370 chipset and Intel 9th ​​generation socket-based processors. These systems are aimed at enthusiasts; they are distinguished by their large size, massive cooling systems, and various connection options. At the same time, the devices are equipped with mobile graphics cards MXM. Thus, it can be assumed that such video cards as part of Xijie Lion notebooks will be faster solutions than Max-Q versions, which should also appear soon.

The most productive mobile video card will be the GeForce RTX 2080 MXM model, which is designed for the most productive laptops. It appears under the name NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 OC, which speaks of the initial factory overclocking. You can also assume that overclocked and overclocked versions will come to the market. As for the technical characteristics of the device, this video card contains 2944 CUDA cores and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit access bus. The operating frequency is indicated at 1515/1847/1860 + MHz for the base / high / overclocked modes. The memory frequency will be 14 Gbps. The value of the TDP is not mentioned, but given the higher frequencies of the graphics processor TU104, TDP may be close to 200 watts. Thus, such a video card will require a large amount of energy and corresponding components for power management. Because it will be expensive to manufacture a device for expensive laptops. Also, a more economical Max-Q solution will come to the market.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 MXM can also be offered with factory overclocking and in many respects resembles a desktop counterpart. 2340 CUDA cores and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit interface and a frequency of 14 Gbit / s are available here. The base frequency of the GPU is set to 1410 MHz, as in the desktop version. But the increased frequency is 1740 MHz, and this already exceeds the value for the desktop model. The TDP is not specified again, but it can be expected to be about 150 W.

The characteristics of the mobile GeForce RTX 2060 MXM video card, which has not yet been presented in the desktop segment (although it may appear in 6 versions, depending on memory configuration). According to previously announced information, the desktop version contains GPU TU106, 1920 CUDA cores and up to 6 GB of GDDR6 memory. But for the mobile version of the GeForce RTX 2060 MXM, a somewhat trimmed configuration is used, which contains only 1,536 CUDA cores. The memory capacity is the same as that of the desktop counterpart – 6 GB GDDR6. The memory interface is likely to be 192-bit. The base frequency of the GPU of the GeForce RTX 2060 MXM video card will be 1320 MHz, and the increased frequency will be 1620 MHz. The memory is characterized by a frequency of 14 Gbit / s. In this case, the TDP is expected to be at a level of 100-120 W.

The official announcement of mobile video cards of the GeForce RTX 20 series is expected in early January. The following table describes the previously announced preliminary characteristics for such video cards, including the Max-Q versions.
