The characteristics of mobile video cards NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, RTX 2070, RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti have become known.

As previously reported, during the CES 2019 Consumer Electronics Show, the official announcement of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 mobile video cards is expected. We can already familiarize ourselves with the technical characteristics of these devices, including the Max-Q versions.

The GeForce RTX 2060 has already appeared in the Futuremark 3DMark database and is mentioned as a mobile version based on the Turing GPU. It is assumed that this device contains the same TU106 video chip as the older version of GeForce RTX 2070, but with a reduced number of functional blocks, a reduced GPU operating frequency, less memory and a 192-bit memory access bus instead of a 256-bit interface. The Max-Q version has slightly different technical specifications. Moreover, the frequency of the GPU is slightly increased, and the frequency of the memory, by contrast, is reduced. This, in turn, leads to a decrease in memory bandwidth. The result of the preliminary test indicates that the GeForce RTX 2060 mobile video card scores about 19,000 points, which is slightly lower than the results of the GeForce GTX 1070 mobile model.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q model received a TU106 video chip with a large number of active stream processors and enhanced frequencies, which should provide a noticeable performance boost. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 series video card has already been seen in a Lenovo laptop, which also uses a powerful 6-core Intel Core i7-8750H processor. This indirectly confirms information about the imminent announcement of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 video cards.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti video cards differ significantly from each other. Despite the similarity of the names and belonging to the general GeForce RTX 2080 series, they are based on various graphics processors with different numbers of functional blocks. The amount of available memory and the memory access bus are also different. As a result, the memory bandwidth of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is almost 2 times higher compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q version.
