All is well
Its Friday - which is always good news. Last night Ben wandered down while I was fiddling with my “water detector” project and found me de-soldering a switch. I needed to remove the “test” button from a cannibalized smoke detector and replace it with a pair of wires that will act as sensors. He thought the whole soldering-thing was OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD-COOL! He was dying to help out, but I had reached a good stopping place and was shutting down. I told him about my two other projects and he thinks they’re VERY good ideas and wants to help out as much as he can. I have to to throttle his “helping” so the other kids get a chance. Chloe and Grace are also eager to do something - they don’t care what. So maybe this weekend I can warm up the store room and get Gabe to finish his pinewood derby car and make some progress on my own projects.
Chloe’s school play is scheduled to go up on the weekend on March 15th. Grace’s birthday is the same day with her birthday party on the following day.
I think that’s about it. Nobody is doing any sports right now - outside of swimming lessons. Grace is signed up for T-ball in the spring. I have VERY mixed feelings about it. I know she won’t like it and will complain about having to go, but she begged to be allowed. So we signed her up. None of the other three liked it well enough to stick with it for more than two seasons, I think. Nonetheless, the other kids got to play and even though I feel certain I know how it will turn out I feel obliged to let her give it a shot. I still hold out a slim hope that she’ll fall in love with it and want to keep playing.
peace out.
