- I did not get the job of manager. Its a mixed blessing… well, maybe “blessing” is an overly positive word. Yes I wanted the job and thought I would have done well at it, but I have to admit that I was concerned it would consume a great deal more of my time than my current job. I don’t even know what the difference in pay would be. The new guy starts on 3/13 I think and he’s supposed to be very good and someone that anyone would want to work for. So that’s all good news. But I didn’t get the job and that’s bad news.
- I bought a $10 smoke detector tonight because I found a hint online that explained how to turn it in to a water detector. That is, after some “customizing” a couple of wires will sit in a bucket under my kitchen sink. If enough water winds up in the bucket to complete a circuit the detector will start howling like a banshee. Needless to say, Liz is thrilled with the idea. I have removed the extraneous housing and some other superfluous hardware leaving only a board and some components. Now I get to use my soldering iron to make my modifications! More to come later.
- Kids are well. Wife is well. The dogs stink. The youngest one crapped in the basement.
- I leave you with this: an “instructable” about how to taxidermy a rat, fill it with magnets and electronics and have a good time.
