“assertively upbeat but melodically negligible”

LA Times review of the Hannah Montana movie   :!:

A memo to Disney, re: Hannah Montana nonsense | Tech news blog - CNET News.com

My daughter, Chloe and my wife talked me in to taking her to the Hannah Montana concert-movie. Yes, its a movie of a concert. Sure, I can see making a feature length film of a concert (pink floyd, The Who, The rolling stones - you know, bands who put on a Show with a capital “S”) but I have trouble understanding charging the prices they’ve been charging. Sure, its a 3-D movie - but there’s got to be more to it than that. I think it has to be because they have a money machine in Mylie Cyrus.

I understand that it made $31 million - MUCH more than Disney expected, so now they have decided to increase the run at some theaters. See, it was scheduled to run for ONLY one week, so there was a feeding frenzy amongst the pre-teen girls across the country to get in to see it. My daughter, an expert manipulator, talked me in to taking her.

Not just her, though.

(This demonstrates how good she really is)

Her friend too. Her friend is moving to North Carolina in the next couple of months so she will probably never see her again. So I agreed to bring the friend too.

Can you believe what a push-over I have become?
