Carolina Hot Wings - Grilled Chicken Wing Recipe
Yes, it was the hot wings. I told the little woman that I wanted to make some spicey wings for the football game and they came out really great. I don’t normally approve of blow-your-head-off hot wings dripping in jalapeño sauce because it winds up being about who can tolerate more pain. And in general I’m not a big fan of pain. These were marinated for a day, then grilled. And they came out great. They’re tiny and perfect for nibbling on during the football game. Also, because they’re grilled it seared off some of the fat. Now I have a whole tub of left overs that I imagine i will gnosh on in the coming days.
Otherwise the football game really has us “down” up here in New England. A sad tragic day. There was an awful decision in the first half. It was fourth down and 14 yards to go so Bellicheck decides that this is a good time to go for a touchdown instead of trying to get a three-point field goal. Brady threw an incomplete pass and the Giants picked up the ball. Brady had an awful night. He played really badly. Was it that he kept getting beaten up by getting sacked five times and hit nine? I don’t think it was just that because even when he wasn’t getting his ass handed to him he threw the ball to high or too short. It was very sad.
I let Ben, Gabe and Chloe stay up for the whole game (10pm). This was several hours later than their usual bedtime. But they handled it well and as far as I could see they got up ok in the morning, too. Grace was too tired and grouchy so she retired at her usual 8pm. Chloe prepared some pigs-in-a-blanket for everyone. We had a fine little feast.
