What does the weekend hold for you?

For me, there are a couple of items of interest. On Saturday afternoon I need to take Grace to soccer practice. I can’t believe she’s old enough for stuff like “soccer practice”. Ok, its Munchkin soccer practice, which means they’re just learning what a goal is and which way to run and the barest basics of soccer. Nonetheless, its soccer practice.

I let myself get talked in to helping with organizing the Munchkins, though. Now I am committed to being there all afternoon. From 2pm until probably 4pm. 2 hours, all by itself isn’t bad, but they are an inconvenient pair of hours because they chew up the whole afternoon, you know? Nonetheless I have to confess that I like this kind of stuff. On Friday evening I have to stop by the field where there’s a coaches meeting going on so I can collect my “snazzy” red coaches shirt. I think I may also have to fill in for a coach tomorrow.
Also this evening there is a cub scout pack meeting to which I have to take Gabriel. I also sometimes take the other kids partly because they are fun events and partly to give the little woman a break from the kids. That will completely consume this evening.

Two weeks ago I installed a new faucet in the kitchen. It came out looking really great and several of Liz’s friends have complimented her on it, so I am happy with how it came out. Unfortunately, I didn’t tighten the whole thing down quite as much as I should have – so its kind of wobbly now. So I need to tighten that up which means I heave to pull everything out from under the sink. This is a bigger ordeal than actually changing the faucet, I can tell you. So I need to do that sometime.

On Sunday its Gabriel’s tenth birthday! Its been a lego-themed celebration this year and I think he has cleaned up on legos. He has dragons and castles and skeletons. All kinds of legos! But in a departure from the theme we’re having the party at a Laser Tag arena – which is right up his alley. They LOVE laser tag. So that’s our big event for Sunday afternoon.

I guess that leaves Saturday and Sunday mornings for repairing faucets and whatever else needs to go on.

I am still working out the details of this new WordPress blogging software so I will probably post more entries as I fiddle with it.
