Sphere: Related ContentSo, sure enough, last week I spent in Dallas. It was mostly a successful trip. The purpose was to get trained in a new technology from SAP. Inasmuch as that was the goal, it was successful. Otherwise it was a fairly significant pain in the ass. I don’t have time to get in to all the details now. Highlights:
o Ate at Fogo De Chao. The gluttony was obscene. Really. I loved it.
o Dallas weather was FANTASTIC – 75 degrees and mostly sunny
o Bumped in to a buddy from my previous employer. Turned out to be a very cool guy and we hung around together most of the time I was there.
o The trip home was awful because my plane got canceled for weather that never arrived.
Friday stunk because there were a million things going on that needed my attention. For example:
o Family friend needed help because her basement was flooding
o Cub scout fundraising candy arrived. 2 pallets.
o Girl Scout cookies arrived
o “weigh-in” for cub scout pinewood derby
o Handful of errands
Saturday was also kind of brutal for the same reasons.
o Pinewood derby races
o Swimming lessons
o Handful of errands
o Sorting of candy for pickup on Sunday
o Distribution of girlscout cookies
o Cleaning
Amazingly these tasks went on in to the night. Likewise, Sunday was filled with
o cleaning
o picking up and getting ready for an open house.
o Chloe had to sell girlscout cookies at the grocery store
o Lunch in Salem
o Stop to get insanely good deal on antique desk and chairs for kids
o Stop at someone else’s open house
o Distribute cub scout candy to den leaders
o Call den leaders who didn’t get their candy like they were supposed to
o Fix internet on computers
o Fix internet on tivo
o Fix network on phone (Voice over IP)
o Lock network down again
I swear that since I got home from Dallas I’ve been getting my ass kicked by all the chores and things that HAVE to get done. Now the Disney trip is racing up to meet me and I don’t have time to finish all things I want to get done.
Oi! And its 3pm already!
I’m still alive and looking forward to a little vacation soon.
