Most likely to require bond
Yesterday Gabriel and Chloe walked home from school by themselves. There are crossing guards and the kids are seven and nine years old plus we only live a couple of blocks from the school so it doesn’t bother us. But we always wonder what they’re up to when we’re not looking.
I guess every parent does.
Have we taught them enough sense and responsibility that they won’t do something idiotic the first second we’re not looking. There’s a small stone wall on the walk home – its just visible from our kitchen and even then its only visible during winter when the leaves have fallen from the trees.
Liz looked out the window yesterday and saw that Gabriel had climbed on top of the wall and was standing on one leg waving his arms over his head like a crazy kid.
Obviously he didn’t realize she could see him.
Busted.
