So what music did I get for this month?

Of all things, I got the 1983 breakout album from Art of Noise. I admit its a little techno, but its not so bad.

I also got Love and Rockets’ first album, Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven.

Canned Heat has a song called “On the Road Again” - I downloaded that. It must be 30 years old for sure, but its still got a good sound. That’s something kind of cool about eMusic is that you don’t have to buy the whole album.

The New Pornographers have a softer sound - kind of like Spoon. I downloaded their “Mass Romantic” album.

Get this: I also got Mahler’s sixth symphony! I know!! Can you believe it?! Me neither!! I don’t actually know anything about Mahler but thought I would try him out.

I also go Spoon’s “Girls Can Tell” album. I like Spoon in a general way. Their music doesn’t excite me but it interests me, you know? I can’t get REALLY in to them but I like listening to them at work.

To get the party started, i grbbed “Party with Puente” by Tito Puente. Did you know I saw him live back when we lived in Morristown? Maybe it was Randolph. Anyway, it was years back and he played a small theater in Morristown, NJ. Its a little Latin Jazz.

I don’t know anything about “TV On The Radio” except that they put out an album called Young Liars and now I have it. I’ll let you know what they sound like.

Finally, in an ode to my past I picked up “Rock!!!!” by The Violent Femmes - I don’t know which part of their career this came from so I’m not sure what it sounds like yet.

I would say that’s a pretty good haul for September!
