File it under: no-good-deed-goes-unpunished
Last night the kids were really grating on Liz’s nerves. The vacation was cool and everything, but it resulted in a whole lot of “closeness” for the family. I’m guessing that Liz is feeling overburdened by all the kids right now and she needed a break yesteday.
The weather has been so unbelievably awful that the city left the swimming pools open late so people could cool down. So I took all four kids to the local DCR swimming pool.
Wasn’t that great of me? The shallow end is still 3′6″ which is too deep for Grace, so she and I played together and I dragged her around. We wound up swimming for about 90 minutes or so. I bumped in to some neighbors I hadn’t seen in a while who had the same idea about the pool and some new friends from the cub scout pack.
Everyone enjoyed themselves had a good time and enjoyed themselves.
Today the kids keep asking Liz why she won’t take them to the DCR pool. See? You do something halfway nice for someone and then they expect it to happen all the time.
