The big weekend
What makes it the big weekend?
Dancing, baby. Dancing.
Grace’s dance recital is On Saturday.
Chloe’s dance recital is On Saturday.
Bens dance recital is On Saturday.
I think Chloe and Ben actually have two shows to put on, while Grace only has one. I think its going to be a very busy Saturday. Tomorrow morning I have to drop off a ton (plus or minus) of recycling at the kids’ elementary school. This is the last weekend of their special recycling drive. Its about time, too.
I have to drop the dog off at the groomer’s — he’s very very furry and we think that with the summer heat coming on that he’s going to be WAY more comfortable without such a long and thick coat. So he’s going to get a trim at the Pristine Pet where he’s familiar with them and they’re familiar with him.
I also have to pick up flowers and .. hmmm.. something else afterwards. I think the first show is at 12:30pm. There’s a soccer game at 2:30pm which Ben was going to have to pass on because of the whole dancing thing. But now it looks like the weather is going to force the whole team to cancel. I swear we’ve only played a couple of games this year! And as far as “returns on investment” go, $75 per kid per season is turning out to be pretty exorbitant!
$25 a game?!
Every spring there’s a turn in the weather when it goes from “nice” to “muggy and hot”. It happened on Thursday. Our springs are always absurdly short. Anyway, spring came and went very suddenly and now we’re in to summer which means I have to put up the air conditioner units. Its a giant headache that I dread every year. They’re really heavy and I hate dragging them up and down the stairs and screwing them down. So I think I have that scheduled for Sunday.
And … ah… fishing? I would still like to go fishing. The kids are dying to come with me. I don’t know what they like about fishing — we never catch anything. I think they’re excited about the possibility and the idea of catching a fish.
Chloe still wants to sleep out in the tent with me. I’m sure we can do that sometime, but not this weekend.
That’s it for now.
