I’ve
got “buy-in” from the little woman on deep-sea fishing trip! I
was very concerned that I wouldn’t be able to get away at all, but it
looks like I will! We’re tentatively scheduled to go on a
full-day trip on Sunday, August 28th out of Newburyport on the Erica Lee. The good part about a full-day is that we can go out to the deeper water where the big fish live!
By “tentatively” I mean that I’ve left them voicemail asking if I can have that date. So its really still very tenuous.
I
want to get at least 9 other people to go besides myself. The
cost for the boat is $750 a day. I don’t want it to cost more
than $75 a day (plus gratuity — how much do you tip, anyway?!).
But they will let us bring up to 15 people. $50 a head is pretty
good for a full day, but I don’t want it to get too crowded
either. I’m dying to start convincing people to come, but I’m
about to go on vacation. I’ll probably try to get this operation
organized to the point where we have the boat reserved and then ask the
others to recruit our remaining members.
I’ve
left a voicemail with the boat but they haven’t called back yet.
I may call back and give them my cell number. The boat looks
pretty well booked up except for a couple of Sundays and I’m not sure
if that’s because they’re good Christians and don’t work on Sunday or
if their other boat (Erica Lee II) is newer so most people go for that
boat, which means the Erica Lee I may have more availability.
