They didn’t even believe me
Today is Tuesday, March 1st and we got about eight inches of snow last
night. I got up at 5:30am and shoveled all the snow out of the way. The
good news was that the small sidewalk-plow had already come through and
done the walk. The bad news was that the industrial strength plow had
deposited its full load in my driveway. It took me about 45 minutes to
dig out the car, the driveway and neaten the walk. The snow wasn’t too
bad, its just that I’ve been a little under the weather lately. It
really seemed to wipe me out. Before I left I told the kids that there
was no school today (the truth!) and that instead I had a job I needed
them to do for me. In my most serious face I told them that I needed a
snowfort built by the end of the day. I suggested using some small
plastic containers to fashion bricks. And I told them it should be good
and sturdy because me and Mr Crafts, the next door neighbor were going
to duke it out.
They didn’t believe me either but thought the idea of building a snow fort was a good one.
I’ll be curious to see what they come up with.
I
got to work right on time at 7am. I’ve had a couple of successes today
at work, which was nice. But I’m still not quite on my game. Every day
I feel a little better than the previous one. If I had to guess I’d say
I have tonsilitis and the low grade fever & fatigue shows I’m
trying to fight it off. Maybe I need some more rest to get past it.
The
iPod is working out well. I’m listening to my entire music collection
alphabetically. It sure results in a wide variety of music! I’m up to a
cover of “99 Luft Balloons” — in ASCII numbers always come before
letters. So I have a long way to go until I finish the whole thing.
